Diarrhea

If you have a fever over 101.5 F, have not urinated in 8 hours, have blood, pus or mucus in stools, have severe pain of any kind, have used antibiotics recently, have any other medical conditions or symptoms, have persistent diarrhea or are pregnant, it is particularly important that you consult with your doctor.

Consuming a mixture of 50% water with 50% gatorade, or consumption of an oral rehydration solution is strongly recommended to avoid dehydration. Sip gradually and consistently throughout the day in order to give your body a constant supply of hydration. Consuming yogurt or probiotics can help to regulate digestion. Antimotility agents such as loperamide (Imodium) can reduce the frequency of diarrhea. Tylenol is taken to reduce fever.
