When a medicated shampoo is used for treatment the shampoo should be worked into the scalp and allowed to soak in for 2-4 minutes. These shampoos should only be used 2-3 times per week for the first 2-4 weeks. Once the condition is controlled, the medicated shampoo should only be used once a week or less.
